Position Purpose:
The Business Systems Specialist – Mortgage has the primary responsibility of ensuring Civista Bank's Lending Systems are running optimally as defined by the Lending, Loan Operations, and Credit Departments. The Business Systems Specialist is the subject matter expert for the Lending Systems. This will include involvement throughout the entire system's life cycle and support. The Business Systems Specialist provides insight into 3rd party solutions, appropriate use of business rules, calculations, and other system specific settings as well as performance issues and provide training as needed. The Business Systems Specialist will provide 2nd level support for all aspects of the systems including ancillary applications.
Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
Work directly with Loan Operations, Lending, and senior management to ensure current and future needs related to loan processing are being obtained.
Interact with the Bank's Compliance Department on regulatory requirements and the impact they have on potential system changes, so as to provide balance between operating ease and Bank/customer interests relating to the areas of loans, deposits, and retail operations.
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and in an appropriate level of detail to ensure a clear understanding of how the Loan systems should be configured and/or enhanced to meet Civista Bank's needs.
Work with Lending, Loan Operations and Credit and/or ancillary vendors to ensure requirements are developed, tested and implemented correctly.
Responsible for all “configuration" parameter updates (new/modifications).
IT primary contact for all lending projects, and issue analysis and resolution.
Act as the liaison between IT, Loan Operations, Lending, and Credit and/or related vendors.
Identifies and obtains data and information critical to analyses.
Interacts with other departments to obtain information and data.
Leads presentations to all levels of management.
Assists with the development of business policies.
Participate in project meetings which directly affect lending and loan operations.
Recommends process improvements to enhance data collection and improve reporting.
Maintain user authority and rights in ancillary loan applications.
Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Eight to ten years' professional experience in an analytical role in lending or operations, preferably working with preferably with Jack Henry systems.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
The ability to motivate or influence, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
Leading both internal and external departments and organizations.
Solid knowledge of the various bank departments and their needs and procedures regarding the loan system and their interface to Jack Henry.
Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy and organizational skills required.
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills; critical information-seeking skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruptions; ability to balance multiple projects/activities with varying deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading reports, documents, and so forth.
Work involves reading, hearing, speaking, listening, typing and ability to communicate in a professional manner, in person, via telephone and via email.
Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
Work involves lifting and moving files or equipment of up to 40 lbs.
Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, and so forth.
