We are a rapidly expanding, $ 4 0 0 M+ private equity backed industry leader , and we have an immediate opening for an in-office Staff Accountant within our Corporate Accounting Department.

TITLE : Staff Accountant

REPORTS TO : Senior Accountant

S UPERVISES: None

Work Arrangement : In-office (Laytonville, MD)

PURPOSE The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records by reconciling key transactions within the balance sheet, assisting in the preparation of audit supporting documentation, and contributing to the preparation of monthly income statements. This role will also support the financ ial team in ensuring compliance with accounting standards by strengthening internal controls across the accounting team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare journal entries and assist in the monthly reconciliation and monitoring of assigned balance sheet .

- Support fixed asset accounting by tracking and reconciling fixed assets and recording depreciation .

- Assist with financial audit by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.

- Support ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as needed, providing insights to help improve financial processes.

- Contribute to internal controls by identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of enhanced procedures.

- Assist with the monthly financial close by performing reconciliations, analyzing variances, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data , and other adjusting entries to support the month-end close process.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong willingness to learn, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

- Assist in preparing financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting under the guidance of senior accountants.

- Maintain confidential and organized records in accordance with company policies and regulations

- Responsible for performing daily cash management tasks, reconciling the corporation's various operating cash

- Salary range for this position is $64,000 - $67,000 per year

Qualifications/Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting

- Two -plus years of professional experience

- Effective written and verbal communication

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

- Ability to meet deadline s and work well under pressure

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( E xcel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Experience with JD Edwards or similar accounting system is a plus
