Overview

Under the direction Versatran Product Sales, the Versatran Truck Driver transports finished trucks to and from the customer throughout the United States.

 

The Truck Driver position moves the vehicles to and from DOT inspections, provides regular sales demonstrations with the sales team, and delivers the completed units to customer locations.



Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Manage routes to proceed in the most efficient way possible and to meet unit transportation schedules.
  • Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
  • Conduct inspections of the vehicle prior to movement and report any problems or damage to management.
  • Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • For unit deliveries, conduct customer training and respond to basic customer questions.
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Have and maintain a current CDL within the state of WI.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver (2+ years’ commercial driving experience preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
  • Ability to drive long distances within legal restrictions, and travel for deliveries and product training. 
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Effectively follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
  • Communicate verbally with co-workers and customers to keep a safe working environment.
  • Self-motivated and team oriented.
  • Quality driven with attention to detail.
  • No recent moving or driving violations. 
  • No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years
  • No DWI/DUI in last 5 years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of mechanical and assembly experience
  • Solid math and ability to read and convert measurements
  • Experience with power tools and hand tools
  • Mechanical Aptitude
