Are you ready to contribute to humanity's return to the Moon and our journey beyond? NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a seasoned Systems Integration and Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development and verification of the Space Launch System (SLS)—the most powerful rocket ever built.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of assembling, testing, and troubleshooting cutting-edge avionics systems within our state-of-the-art facilities, including the Systems Integration and Test Facility (SITF), Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL), and Software Development Facilities (SDFs). Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of hardware and software components critical to the success of NASA's deep space missions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of hardware and software systems within Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) environments to validate SLS avionics performance.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures, ensuring rigorous verification of system functionalities.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed computing and simulation laboratories, enhancing system reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot simulation anomalies and implement effective solutions.

  • Maintain meticulous documentation within configuration control systems, supporting transparency and traceability.

  • Provide regular status updates through detailed reports and presentations, facilitating informed decision-making.

  • Utilize Linux-based operating systems and software development languages to support system troubleshooting and enhancements.

  • Interpret and create engineering drawings and schematics, contributing to the design and analysis of avionics systems.

 



Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field; a degree from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 13 years with a master's degree, or 9 years with a Ph.D.

  • Proficiency in hardware/software integration, test execution, and troubleshooting within complex systems.

  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and experience with software development languages.

  • Ability to obtain certifications in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Cabling Operations, and Crimping Operations.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.

  • MUST be US Citizen for Government Contract or Clearance Requiement
