Job Title: Post-Doctoral Associate of Otolaryngology

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Date Available: April 30, 2025

Job Description:

In this position as a Post-Doctoral Associate, you will be working full-time in the Santa Maria Lab in the Department of Otolaryngology. The research goal of the lab is to understand the immune mechanisms involved in various forms of hearing loss, including those caused by ear infections, noise, tumors, and autoimmune or immune-mediated inner ear diseases. Notably, the lab has established an Immune-Mediated Inner Ear Disease Center specifically to address these conditions. The research approach involves a multi-faceted strategy, progressing from in vitro studies to animal models and ultimately to the analysis of human samples. Responsibilities will include conducting experiments, manuscript writing, grant writing, and collaborating with other scientists and students in the lab. The role also involves supervising junior students. The position will be supervised by Research Professor Dr. Xia.

As a Post-Doctoral Associate, you are encouraged to participate in the preparation and publication of your research findings, attend seminars, pursue professional development opportunities, and present your research at scientific meetings. You are expected to actively engage in these activities and seek guidance throughout your postdoctoral experience.
