Responsibilities

Responsible for component/Supplier quality of moderate to high risk products and purchased finished goods based on patient safety and revenue. 
This position will strongly influence impact delivery, product safety, design and product quality, regulatory, and product cost. 

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting product launches at lowest COGs achievable resulting in a competitive cost with strong margins, at a high level of quality, with an end result of gaining share in the marketplace.
  • Assist business segments in meeting cost targets.
  • Creating a capable design for manufacturing.
  • Managing expectations of PhRI engineering / business teams and suppliers.
  • Developing a supply base that supports business segment needs.
  • Under-defined commodity roadmaps to support business and / or market needs.
  • Interaction with all levels of personnel within Philips and supplier organizations.
  • Dealing with varying levels of business complexities.
  • Participating in negotiations in leveraged situations.
  • Independently define quantitative goals for personal and professional development that support the HHS Global Sourcing Mission.

Create value for PH-RI HHS customers by ensuring continual supply of quality goods and innovative solutions which deliver a sustainable competitive advantage by:

  • Supporting NPD projects and provide operational support
  • Enhancing product quality
  • Minimizing cost
  • Developing & Maintaining supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliant purchasing practices and drive continuous improvement


Qualifications

Minimum of a 4-year degree required, technical degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
M.Sc / MBA Preferred


Minimum 5-10+ years relevant experience.
Commodity-specific experience required.

 

Experience in achieving buy-in from and supporting cross-functional teams. 
- New, highly complex programs and products with New technology.
- Managing teams of individuals with diverse skill sets, personalities, and backgrounds.
- Understanding Human Resources aspect of the business.


Experience with: Project management, Medical Device directives, Manufacturing experience, with Chemical plastics commodity, Leadership experience, DoE experience, Design for Mfg, Design quality , Costing, Value engineering, Risk Management, NPD experience / Innovation, Process expertise, Lean manufacturing experience, Technical writing, Contract development, LCC experience, commodity experience, purchasing tools, supply chain mgmt experience, design controls, design transfer, validation experience, product design experience, ability to reduce product cost, teaching & mentoring, cross-industry experience and cross-functional.


Professional certification preferred (e.g. CPSM, Six Sigma, ASQ)
