About the role


As the Senior Document Controller, you will be responsible for the efficient management and organization of documents within Forterra, ensuring integrity, accessibility, and compliance to established standards. You will oversee the creation, version control, quality assurance, and secure storage of documents to maintain accuracy, consistency, and regulatory/customer compliance. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, technical acumen, adaptability, time-management skill, organization skill, and be self-guided with a continuous improvement mindset.


What you"ll do

  • Processing requests for information (RFI).
  • Organizing and processing forms.
  • Archiving documents.
  • Controlling the retrieval of documents.
  • Managing the organization, storage, and tracking of documents throughout their life cycle.
  • Ensuring documents comply with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Print and distribute documents as needed.
  • Scan and upload documents according to company procedure.
  • Collect and register technical documents such as drawings and blueprints in the company's system.
  • Review and update documents for maintenance and quality control.
  • Keep other personnel updated on new document versions and how to obtain access.
  • Handle records across various departments.
  • Create templates for use by other personnel.
  • Establish and maintain record retention timelines.
  • Providing training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • General understanding of Process management tools such as SIPOCs and KPI/PPI generation to ensure processes are measured and capable.
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Management and Product Lifecycle Management systems considered a plus.
  • Experience working under industry standard quality management systems i.e. ISO 9001-2015, or similar equivalent.
  • Familiarity with CAPA Management and RCCA.
  • The ideal candidate for this role is self-directed, able to work independently, and is highly motivated.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Ability to stay focused and carry out tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy while managing critical documents of complexity and sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Auditing experience: preferred in ISO 9001-2015
  • Must possess the ability to establish rapport and working relationships at all levels of the organization and communicate effectively throughout.
  • High tolerance for change and ambiguity.
  • Strong bias for action; able to communicate vision clearly and be a driver of change.
  • Agile working style: able to adjust one's approach to fit the situation.
  • Utmost passion towards details and high focus on quality and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity for digital document management systems such as PolicyTech.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor"s Degree in a related field
  • 3-5+ Years of experience in Document Control or related field


US Salary Range
$130,000 — $160,000


Location:

Clarksburg, MD - Full-Time In-Office

The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra's overall compensation package.
