Department: Operations – Services

Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager

Location: Washington, D.C. with flexibility for telework

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Clearance: Top Secret


Position Summary

The Cloud Solutions Architect (CSA) will lead the strategy and implementation of technology solutions to ensure they meet business needs and provide the leadership for tasks related to developing an enterprise's hybrid cloud architecture. The CSA will provide hybrid cloud strategy for Azure Commercial and Government Community Clouds, Amazon Web Services, and other clouds utilizing approved platforms. The Cloud Solution Architect considers networking, security, computer, and other infrastructure components to plan and document the current and future architecture. This position provides analysis of private, public, hybrid, Pass, IaaS, SaaS options for delivering value and defining a multiyear value driven platform strategy. The Cloud Solutions Architect is a hands-on role that works across teams to implement optimized operational and security requirements that foster an efficient portfolio of highly resilient and highly available modern applications to support the mission of the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) Bureau. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.


Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide management and expertise on cloud adoption plans and CI/CD frameworks to operate the cloud more efficiently and effectively.
  • Partner with project teams, vendors, support organizations, functional architects, systems specialists and other technical resources in a hands-on capacity, driving cloud modernization, continuous delivery, and disaster preparedness.
  • Document all configuration, management, and optimization changes to the cloud environment.
  • Lead technical presentations demonstrating a good understanding of application, data, infrastructure, architecture expertise and application systems design.
  • Collaborate with application, data, and security engineers and be responsible for defining, designing, and delivering technical architecture, patterns, technical quality, risks, fitness for purpose and operability of technical architecture solutions.
  • Advance operational plans to include development code storage, code migration, monitoring, and redundancy of resources, components, and environments.
  • Assist in establishing active directory (AD) security structure, groups, single sign-on and multi-factor authentication (MFA), planning and architecture.
  • Design & govern architecture aligned with Enterprise security and operational standards to include compliance with application monitoring policies and issue resolution procedures.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Submit Monthly Status Reports (MSRs).
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze policies, procedures and organizational goals and translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Capacity to exhibit a good understanding of application, data, infrastructure, architecture expertise and application systems design.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

Education & Work Experience

  • Must possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar technical discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in cloud architecture and solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies.
  • 5+ years' experience working in an Agile environment (Agile certification is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large-scale cloud technology projects and implementing and improving organizational processes for IT governance and life cycle.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Services.
  • Experience with Senior Web App.Net and Agular development.

Certifications, Licenses

  • Must have Professional Cloud Certifications in AWS and / or Azure.
  • Agile certification is a plus.

Special Requirements

  • Must be located in the National Capital Region (NCR).
  • Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.


Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
