Responsibilities

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

 

Through coordination with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Site Quality Manager, and MEP Group Manager, the Manager, Energy Marshall Program directs activities and coordinates the day-to-day Energization program and procedures for the company, starting at project start up to full completion.

 

  • Analyze current energization processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage daily activities of the Energy Marshal program for all supporting markets through both processes and people.
  • Ensure adequate staffing on all projects and markets through the following:
    • Hiring of new team members
    • Providing direction for staffing of current and upcoming projects
    • Counseling sheets and PIP as needed for team members
    • Updating staffing software utilized by Gray, to ensure utilization rates are within in the guidelines.
  • Ensures implementation of the created energizing plans at the job site level through management of onsite personnel.
  • Train team members in the use of the energization/ Energy Marshal program and support question resolution pertaining to the program.
  • Ensure the energization program provides a fair and effective monitoring of the overall organization on a regular and timely basis.
  • Accumulate data from the energization program at the site level to report continuous improvement measures to prevent repetitive lessons learned within their respective markets and across all markets to share learnings to the company.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections/audits to ensure that energization plans are in place and report findings to the QMS Director.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external clients including owners, business partners, manufacturers reaps and third parties.
  • Ensure all Energy Marshals have the required NFPA 70E on Electrical Safety Related Work Practices.
  • Assign and train competent Energy Marshals as needed to support project and campus needs.
  • Ensure all Teams are trained on LOTO and ensure trainings and records are being maintained and easily accessible for customer reference.
  • Ownership over the energization process for Gray Construction which includes updating on an annual or sooner basis. These processes my not be owned by the Energy Marshal Program manager but will be their responsibility to ensure the following is reviewed annually at a minimum:
    • LOTO
    • Energization process
    • FOD inspection process
    • Tamper Seal Program
    • Any other energization process that falls within Gray Construction
  • May be required to temporarily monitor projects while others are away from the job and help to provide coverage on jobsites from time to time.
  • Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Additional duties as assigned and agreed to that would support proper and safe energizing of systems on a Gray Construction project.

The new team member is required to have a bachelor’s degree or technical/associate’s degree in a related field; and five years related experience; or the equivalent total of both experience and education totaling 10 years. The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills.
