Your Mission in Action
The primary duty of the Transporter is to escort Unaccompanied Children (UC) within the state or states nationwide. The Transporter is also responsible for escorting and driving children to scheduled appointments, activities, and other off-site needs. These transportation services are conducted in accordance with Agency policies, licensing standards, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including Homeland Security. Upbring is classified as an essential business by the state because the services we provide are critical to the wellbeing of thousands of children and families.
ResponsibilitiesConduct escorts as needed for program needs - Reviews all documentation to ensure it contains all information needed for travel
- Completes, verifies, and provides required documentation to appropriate parties
- Must maintain “line of sight and sound” supervision of each minor during transport
- Provide meals, snacks and drinks for the minors for the duration of the transport as required
- Must be able to address and de-escalate, in both controlled and uncontrolled situations, with uncooperative individuals and report issues to management immediately
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older per licensing requirements
- One (1) year of transportation experience; preferably in medical transport
- Valid Texas Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance; ability to meet Agency insurance provider guidelines as an insured and approved driver
- Ability to follow instructions and directions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish based on service area and service population)
- Two (2) Years of experience transporting children and individuals with mental health and/or behavioral concerns
Travel
- This position may be required to travel up to 60%

Physical Demands & Work Conditions
- This position requires frequent standing, walking, and traveling
- Position works in a child facility and has constant exposure to children
- This position requires employees to be available to work rotating or regular shifts which include weekends and/or holidays to support a 365-day operation
- Lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs.
