Eu Operations Controller - Military veterans preferred

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, Between the hours of 7am & 6pm, to be discussed at interview
Location: B92 8NW - Birmingham

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a EU Operations Controller to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Ensure that DHL service providers have agreed and sign off any contingency plan and have the correct resources available to act upon the plan.
• Liaising with carriers to ensure pre-arranged transport from the contingency plan, sourcing other carriers where required to smooth out the collection plan as much as possible.
• Maintain relationships to implement and establish high, reliable on time collection and on time delivery performance and to respond to inquiries / requests of a moderate difficulty level from Suppliers, Carriers and others (internal & external).
• Liaise with Billing/Payable Team to ensure correct cost recovery against the responsible party and any subsequent invoicing requirements
• Escalation of issues including transit delays, to appropriate contacts, including supervisor, management, customer & third party service providers.
• Ensures that all appropriate transportation and customs documentation is created and processed timely and accurately. Complies with corporate, local and or international regulatory requirements. Coordinates transportation requirements with appropriate internal and external carriers & vendors.

• Previous Operations experience
• IT Literate, with Microsoft office packages, Excel
• Strong analytical skills
