Position Overview:
As a TRIO Upward Bound Counselor/Tutor, you'll play a vital role in preparing high school students for success in college and beyond. This dynamic position combines academic instruction, college and career advising, and personal mentorship, all with the goal of empowering students to overcome challenges and achieve their educational dreams.
What You'll Do:
- Provide academic tutoring and instruction across core subjects - math, science, English, and social studies.
- Serve as a classroom instructor, delivering engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Offer individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Guide students through the college admissions process, including financial aid and scholarship applications.
- Help students explore career pathways, set goals, and build the skills necessary for post-secondary success.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where students feel seen, heard, and encouraged.

- A strong background or willingness to instruct in core academic subjects.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.
- Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A genuine passion for working with educational programs designed for disadvantaged youth in communities with low-income, first-generation high school students is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications is also advised.
