The Pressure Systems Coordinator will support the Safety and Mission Assurance Support (SMAS) contract supporting NASA at Stennis Space Center. The pressure systems coordinator will provide support to the Pressure Vessel / Systems (PVS) Manager oriented toward existing pressure vessels and in-service piping systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing coordination of the PVS program processes related to the inspections and certification of PVS and construction activities.
  • Maintaining information in multiple databases using evergreening techniques.
  • Responsible for coordinating inter-contract and inter-governmental activities related to PVS certifications and construction activities.
  • Responsible for creating and tracking activities on workload progress charts.
  • Responsible for execution of plans for continued process improvement.
  • Participate in peer review meetings related to PVS products.
  • Responsible for gathering manufacturing data for new PVS and creating new assets within databases.
  • Develop report templates capturing all the relevant code required data in preparation of engineering analysis on a per system/vessel basis.
  • Participate in teamwork within the PVS group to ensure set productivity targets are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have 2+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal and NASA regulations and procedures as related to pressure vessel fabrication and repair, fabrication, and repair of piping.
  • This position requires both inside and outside work, at times standing required for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to climb stairs, vertical ladders, etc.
  • Duties will require work at high elevations or confined spaces.
  • Possess the ability to read complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.

DESIRED:

  • The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with NASA Quality Systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of SSC rocket engine testing or aerospace related experience.
  • Experience with pressure vessel or piping systems inspection and reading Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Experience in creating written reports for inspections/S&MA surveillance assignments.
  • Candidate must be comfortable with adapting to changing environments (work assignments, customers) quickly in support of the mission.

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position is located onsite.
  • This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
