Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a 1st shift Calibration Technician to join our West Hartford, CT team. 

Responsibilities

•Layout gage on angle iron, sine bars, surface plate etc. and check relative dimensions to qualifying surface. Check to industry standards, company procedures or gage and T. D. drawings using measuring instruments such as vernier / caliper, gage blocks, roll readings, micrometer, shadow graph, Supermic, Labmaster, laser mic, and sight gages. 
•Inspect Gaging prior to calibration for visual defects, clean gages using solvent and/or degreasers. 
•Collect, measure, analyze, and record data gathered during calibration. 
•Create new gage records in Calibration database and maintain Calibration database. 
•Maintain and create other records in computer databases where needed. 
•Perform adjustments to gages when necessary. 
•Identify out of tolerance conditions and perform minor adjustments, component replacements, or repairs.
•Work with engineering, tool crib and manufacturing to establish solutions to correct or replace items that have failed. 
•Issue and return gages to the crib when necessary. 
•Quote and order replacement gages.  
•Keep abreast of gage calibration techniques and equipment used in the performance of calibration operations. 
•Provide assistance to production when emergencies, due to a calibration issue, arise. 
•Attend outside training when requested. 
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•Experience working in manufacturing environment 
•Familiar with Calibration systems, including; Gagetrak, Gagepack and IndySoft. 
•Perform a variety of operations involving gage setup, inspection and calibration of gaging and fixtures. Perform simple Oven SAT calibrations.
•Microsoft office programs 
•Good communication skills 
•Interpret blueprints. 
•Measure gages and fixtures using Lab Standards.
•Strong math aptitude and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required. 
•Perform Calibrations in Lab and on the Production Floor and record results in Calibration system. 
•Assist in gage collection and deliveries within Triumph.
