POSITION 

CUTTING MANAGER 

 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Cutting Manager will be responsible for supporting and managing the Cutting department of production. The manager will aid in meeting production timelines and organizing efficient workflows, as well as training and evaluating supporting staff on appropriate machines, processes, and products. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support, report to, and be directed by the Production Manager in his/her duties.
  • Support and manage the cutting/kitting department of production.
  • Receive, organize, manage, and ensure quality of raw goods?inventory.?
  • Monitor and ensure all machine maintenance is being performed for department.
  • Organize an efficient workflow throughout the cutting floor according to established standard protocols.
  • Aid in the successful meeting of production?timelines.
  • Assist New Products Development in the planning, managing, and implementation of new products onto the sewing floor.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee policies and procedures for any/all departmental needs.
  • Assists in hiring, on-boarding, training, and mentoring staff on appropriate equipment, processes, and products.
  • Evaluates staff on job performance to provide professional development and corrective action feedback in conjunction with?Human Resources?and?the Executive?team.?
  • Evaluates efficiency through methods that may include workflow, workstation organization, and time management.
  • Initiate, manage, and execute process improvement initiatives with the Quality Manager and other management staff in developing Quality Assurance and Quality Control policies, procedures, and documentation.??
  • Enforce?all company policies regarding supporting staff.??

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Full-time, on-site position.
  • Strong attention to detail.?
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions.?
  • Excellent organizational and management skills to maintain a clean workspace and workflow.?
  • May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs.

 

 

  • Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours.
  • Vision to view printed and electronic text and graphics.
  • Ability to access information on computers, tablets, and electronics.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate items with hands and/or fingers up to and including 8 hours.
  • May be required to travel for trade shows, training events, and/or industry or company events

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous management experience.
  • Prior production or manufacturing experience.?
  • Prior experience utilizing appropriate software to perform job duties, such as ADP, Cutworks, Juki PM-1, Ethos CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Microsoft Dynamics systems to facilitate job duties.
