The Online Services and Education Outreach department is currently seeking an Academic Advisor II to guide students to the successful achievement of their academic goals at the University.

The Academic Advisor II will meet with current and prospective students in order to provide accurate and current curricular information on undergraduate programs. This position assists in short-term and long-term academic program planning, refers students to other support services/units on campus and provides assistance with program changes (e.g. class add/drops and major changes) and career plans, as well as performs administrative tasks which support the advising duties and the progression of the students toward graduation.

The Academic Advisor II may be assigned additional related tasks in support of the Department/School's mission and goals. The above outlines general duties performed by employees assigned to this position and does not claim to describe all of the functions of this position. Retention and recruitment of undergraduate students will be an integral part of the advisor's assignment. The Academic Advisor II may be assigned additional duties in support of the goals and mission of the department.
Evening hours are required for this position and additional weekend work may also be required.

Master's Degree + 2 years of experience

Additional Information: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters, such as student worker positions, assistantships, and civil service extra help roles.
