General Summary:

The Staff Accountant III maintains and analyzes financial records, ensuring financial transactions are properly and accurately recorded and in compliance with regulations. The Staff Accountant III ensures the accuracy of entries to the ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. The Staff Accountant III will work on projects of moderate to high complexity and may guide or review work of Accounting support staff. The Staff Account III reports to the Controller.

Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the general ledger, including recording

transactions and reconciling balances.

• Reconciling general ledger accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.

• Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.

• Assists in preparing and posting monthly adjusting and recurring journal entries.

• Assists with budget development and financial forecasting.

• Assists with internal and external audits.

• Preparing and filing payroll and sales tax returns for multiple states and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • License: None required.
  • Certification: None required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Will consider experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 year of experience in corporate accounting environment required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a climate-controlled office setting with varying degrees of stress and time pressure.
  • Considerable amount of time making repetitive motions.
  • Considerable amount of time sitting.
  • Considerable amount of time using telephone and computer.
  • Sounds, noise levels may be distracting or uncomfortable.


Required Physical/Mental Functions:

  • Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
  • Operate company vehicle.
  • Read and interpret instructional manuals and written instructions.
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerant to prolonged sitting.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
