Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple database operations teams to ensure the reliable and efficient performance of SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and Exadata databases.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process modernization and improvement in incident management and service delivery.
  • Drive the modernization of alerting and automation systems to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support of database systems.
  • Monitor and analyze database performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for database management and security, including PCI, HIPAA, PII, CCPA, and SOC.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage contracts and work with managed service agreements to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contract terms to align with organizational goals.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relative work experience
  • Proven experience in managing database operations or engineering teams, with a focus on SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and Exadata.
  • Strong knowledge of incident management and service delivery processes.
  • Experience with modernizing alerting and automation systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Over 10 years of senior leadership experience in leading database operations or related teams.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions and technologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Experience with modernization with AI platforms like MS Copilot
