JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is accountable for the total P&L responsibility of multiple sales territories, and provides leadership, direction and development of all outside sales within the Area markets through the Company’s direct and distribution model. The major overall responsibility is to maximize sales and profits within the Area, while managing the human resources to ensure adequate supply of competent personnel to fill all current and anticipated needs.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and business relationships.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maximizes Sales and Profit results by analyzing sales and market data and developing sales, operating and marketing strategies to assist and manage Sales Reps to effectively attack local competition and ensure market share improvement.
  • Ensures consistent implementation of Division programs, policies and procedures in a large organization spread throughout the area.
  • Optimizes the performance of the Sales Reps while ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provides specific product and competitive feedback to Region Director of Sales and appropriate Division staff through regular data collection, monitors competition: advertising, assortments, etc.
  • Oversees training and development of all sales and operating personnel within the Area.
  • Approves all selection, promotion, transfer, termination, salary adjustments, appraisals (2 levels of approval needed above person affected).
  • Monitors and supervises the implementation of all Divisional approved programs within the Area.
  • Directs and monitors the budgeting process, challenging where appropriate, recommends budgets to Director of Sales.
  • Ensures Division policies and procedures are followed, i.e., accounting, loss prevention, credit.
  • Analyzes monthly area P & L statements and take action to meet or exceed defined goals.
  • Reviews and uses CRM data to track employees’ productivity.
  • Reviews and approve potential new account agreements and ensure compliance or company policies
  • Assists with unsatisfied customers by providing direction and possibly direct involvement.
  • Adheres to company safety standards at all times.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Valid driver’s license
• Proven track record of sales success
• At least 3-5 years of sales-related experience
• Demonstrated ability to work with word documents and spreadsheets
• Demonstrated high level of both verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations and financial ratios relative to a P&L
• Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions
• Demonstrated ability to physically demonstrate paint and associated products by utilizing various product delivery systems such as spray guns and other related equipment.

Preferred:
• Sales experience in automotive coatings or related field
• Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports

Full-time regular employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement are eligible for:
