What You'll Do

The Development Intern is responsible for supporting critical development objectives, with a particular focus on fundraising events, signature campaigns, including galas and golf tournaments, monthly stewardship activities, and ensuring the integrity of our donor database, among other duties to be assigned. Upbring as recognized leader within the industry.

Responsibilities

We Are Warriors | We Set the Standards for Child Welfare

Work Standards

  • Request donations from local businesses of in-kinds items for use in raffles and silent auctions, also assist with picking-up these items from the businesses and delivering to recipients after the events
  • Assist in data entry and research related to community engagement team needs
  • Assist in other event and signature campaign logistics including assembling goodie bags, coordinating snacks and beverages for event attendees and volunteers, and other logistics as assigned
  • Attend Upbring events and assist with day of logistics as assigned
  • Assist in planning and coordination of logistics related to the monthly stewardship project for Upbring
  • Perform activities to ensure integrity of donor database as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Support the Director of Donor Relations and other community engagement team members as needed
  • Participate in development team meetings and provided suggestions and feedback to enhance core community engagement projects
  • Work with other departments at headquarters on projects as requested and assigned

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, vendors, donors, and other clients to ensure project needs and expectations are being met within project scope and meets the established deadline

  • Actively participate in exhibiting cultural awareness and sensitivity when interacting with staff, and the community



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Strong time management & organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods of time
  • Lift, push, pull, move up to 25 lbs.
