Reporting to the Dean of Graduate Admission, the Graduate Admission Counselor is responsible for supporting all facets of the graduate admission and recruitment process. The Graduate Admission Counselor plays a vital role in helping prospective graduate students navigate their admission journey from the first point of contact to becoming an enrolled student. This position is based primarily on our Bristol Campus with occasional remote opportunities. This role will require some local travel for recruiting purposes in the U.S. and, as necessary, abroad.
Recruitment/Enrollment
Support various initiatives aimed at nurturing, generating and supporting prospective graduate students through the enrollment process.
Provide excellent student services through timely response to all inbound emails, calls and meeting requests.
Advise and counsel students about program benefits, admission process/requirements, and financial planning/scholarship information to meet enrollment objectives
Conduct routine proactive outreach to prospective candidates via phone, email and/or text from point of inquiry through enrollment regarding program benefits, admission process/requirements, and financial planning/scholarship information.
Coordinating and conducting campus visits for prospective students including tours, faculty meetings, class visits, and arranging connections with current students.
Collaborate with Sr. Assistant Director of Admission to track program materials to ensure adequate materials are on hand for upcoming events and help to ensure all materials are up to date.
Make presentations to various groups, individuals, and students about RWU graduate programs, the admission process, and financial aid.
Operations
Maintain recruitment information in the University's CRM, application and student information systems.
Track metrics related to the enrollment lifecycle, ensure that all events and leads are being recorded, and analyze recruitment data to determine the effectiveness of specific events and activities.
Regularly make contact with students to provide application status updates and provide necessary support to encourage future enrollment.
Support the processing of application files including, but not limited to, downloading and uploading application documents, sending files to academic program coordinators, and facilitating an expedient and efficient application decision process.
Provide support for the maintenance of the Graduate Admission CRM system.
Event Planning & Execution
Support graduate recruitment efforts by helping to plan, manage and execute events.
Specifically responsible for managing room selection and scheduling, catering, program materials and tabling supplies.
Events are hosted internally and externally and range from open houses, information sessions, tabling and representing RWU at college fairs, and professional conferences.
Additional Functions
Participate in various special projects or assignments at the direction of the Dean of Graduate admission.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
A minimum of one year of professional work experience
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Intermediate experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and email distribution systems.
Ability to learn a variety of computer and other programs as needed.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to prioritize and multitask in order to meet deadlines.
Ability and willingness to work beyond traditional work hours, on weekdays or weekends, as necessary to support the admission objectives of the office including offsite events.
Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent basis, both domestically and internationally.
Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in admission, marketing, sales, customer services, or student advising/counseling experience preferred; related experience may be considered.
At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
