You will oversee daily purchasing operations to ensure the procurement of materials and services meet company standards and conditions of purchase orders. You will also cultivate key supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, monitor supplier performance, and expedite orders in response to demand or supply chain disruptions as well as collaborate with various departments to fulfill current and future inventory needs and effectively manage inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and edits reports on purchasing and inventory metrics. Tracks daily dashboards to ensure optimal service levels across the team.
  • Recommends and implements purchasing strategies to optimize cost and supplier relationships that align with the Company’s goals and objectives.
  • Oversees purchase order processing, approval, workflows, and procurement documentation.
  • Drives collaboration with cross-functional and third-party teams to identify and implement continuous improvement actions and process improvement through system automation.
  • Develops Annual Strategic Plans, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Cost Out Goals to improve efficiencies across Suppliers.

Qualifications

  • 3 + years of experience in a Purchasing or related function
  • 1+ years supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in Supply Chain or related field. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain management desired, Certified Purchasing Professional - CPP through the American Purchasing Society or supply chain certification through APICS
  • Experienced people leader in continuous improvement
  • Ability to build strong supplier relationships and possesses the understanding of the entire supply chain within a commodity
  • Ability to work independently with little to no guidance, including making decisions which may be outside standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entire supply chain within the commodity to better understand and communicate the impact of supply disruptions upstream
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail/accuracy
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office applications, ERP, etc.
