Overview

Horton, Inc. has a 1st shift opening for a Lam Cell Assembler to work in our Westminster, SC location. Standard hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday, with overtime, as needed. The pay for this position starts at $18.87 per hour and salary is based on experience. 

 

Lam Cell Assembler Position Information:

This position reports directly to the Production Manager and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible for the production of quality product by operating different types of machinery to assemble product.

Responsibilities

Lam Cell Assembler Job Responsibilities:

  • Will be expected to be able to perform daily tasks.
    • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
    • Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, downtime tracking sheets, and daily checklists. Communicate questions and problems to Lead/Supervisor.
    • Assemble product as instructed on work instructions or routings.
    • Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for pre-assembly components. Machinery may vary from hand tools to large stamping presses as determined by area.
    • Assess when drill bits require changing and performing the action.
    • Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality Representative. May be required to use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers. Continuously inspect part quality.
    • Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
    • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift. Make sure each shift does a first piece or a continual run.
    • Maintain production rate on each job.
    • Communication throughout shift to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Use work instructions/routing/blueprints to determine what rivets to use for the order.
  • Setup riveter
    • Setup lam machine
    • Verify the placement of drill holes and rivets
    • Assemble sub-assembly using the blade lam and other components per work instructions/routing/blueprints
  • Verifies quality specifications by measuring completed component/product.
  • Ensure data accuracy before transacting in inventory system. Elevate issues or suspected discrepancies to management.
  • Will be required to fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
  • Train new operators when assigned.
  • Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



Lam Cell Assembler Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Previous experience with presses or similar equipment is essential. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship will be provided.
