Position Summary:
The Area VP of Sales will lead and scale the regional sales teams in the specific geography, driving revenue growth and market penetration for the company’s oncology diagnostics portfolio
The position is responsible for the leadership of regional sales teams, strategic planning and execution, customer relationship development and KOL engagement, achieving sales goals, and driving strategic cross-functional collaborations. The Area VP will ensure successful attainment of established goals and objectives for NeoGenomics. The Area VP will also ensure successful commercial launch of new products by working with cross-functional Neo teams and field teams and leadership to ensure execution of launch excellence and attainment of key business objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Regional Sales Directors and their teams
  • Build strong relationships with key oncology centers, Pathologists and healthcare providers
  • Collaborate x-functionally with Marketing, Product Management, Medical and operations to deliver on commercial goals and objectives
  • Ensure the effective adoption of all sales tools, including CRM and Reporting to effectively forecast the performance of the area
  • Achieve revenue and profitability goals
  • Drive strategic sales execution, deployment and collaboration opportunities aligned with business plan and strategy
  • Collaborate and coordinate with all internal positions (Sales Enablement, National Accounts, Lab Operations, Billing, Medical) to ensure successful attainment of company goals and objectives
  • Continually analyze competitive landscape and environment within assigned accounts to determine trends and provide customer feedback and insights to NeoGenomics leadership team
  • Actively lead the development of a strong culture and work environment with a focus on engagement and high performance
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in a Life Science, Biology or business-related field. Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 15+ years of leading sales organizations and leading teams with direct account management experience in diagnostics, pharma, or medical device with a history of proven performance that has met and consistently exceeded expectations
  • Experience in oncology strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of successful management as a second-line sales leader
  • Proven success in complex selling environments, including sales expertise and executive level engagements. Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute business plans, align organizational goals, and innovate
  • Demonstrated measurable revenue generation and results at either a diagnostic, pharmaceutical or relevant biotechnology company
  • Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
  • Outstanding strategic sales account planning skills
  • Superior communication skills, leadership and adaptability
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality
  • Possess a very positive attitude and an understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change. Demonstrated ability to lead change management and transformation
  • Must be very proficient with all Microsoft Office products – particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals and objectives
  • Advanced presentation skills and business acumen
  • Problem solving, decision making and technical learning
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Strong administrative skills and sophistication to manage business in complex environments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of pathology, oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics and targeted agents
  • Strong understanding of diagnostics and the evolving competitive landscape
  • Deep customer and market knowledge
Travel: Greater than 50% in assigned territory
