Description

Leidos is hiring a Research Project Analyst to join our Project Management Team that supports the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is organized, motivated, detail oriented, has experience with Smartsheet and a strong understanding of the project management process and life cycle. As a core member of the Research Project Management team, you will play a valuable part in supporting the execution of a wide range of projects and programs.

The salary range for this role is $70K to $75K

Location: Looking for candidates in the Pittsburgh, PA area as this is a hybrid work position, and selected candidate must be willing to work at the Pittsburgh, PA, NETL campus approximately 20% of the time (one day a week).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate data preparation, analytics, and presentation to inform Project Managers of project status, including deviations to plan and upcoming risks and deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project deliverable and milestone status utilizing Smartsheet.
  • Apply analytical and evaluative methods in order to determine and document the effectiveness of technical programs.
  • Assist with background research on tasks of varying complexity to include policies, procedures, and other interest areas.
  • Assist with analysis and monitoring of findings to include drafting of reports and recommendations
  • Work with team lead to prepare, update, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow processes, templates, assignments, training materials, checklists, tracking logs, etc.
  • Technical writing/editing. Prepare and package weekly and monthly deliverables for submittal.
  • Contribute to preparation of contractor statements of work and schedule documentation in response to Government Statements of Work and Technical Direction documentation.
  • Assist with meeting planning, coordination, logistics, recording of minutes, meeting analysis, and post meeting support.
  • Perform document management on completed deliverables.
  • Contribute with research project teams to monthly Project Reviews to Senior Management utilizing standard templates and forms.
  • Provide financial tracking including budget, forecasting, and resource management.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure flawless execution of energy related research and ensure activities are clearly defined and measurable.
  • Work with various NETL groups to solve problems, such as IT for computer access.
  • Duties may contribute to establishing and defining program plan requirements, delivery timeline, key performance indicators, including monitoring and reporting performance, to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience
  • This team uses Smartsheet.gov. Experience with Smartsheet or another cloud-based project management type software platform
  • Understanding of project management process and life cycle
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft TEAMS, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong coordination skills while balancing multiple assignments
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks while maintaining time management
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to compose correspondence
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to obtain or provide information
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to effectively use applicable tools and techniques to communicate with various audiences
  • Must be able to meet the requirements for gaining access to work on the NETL campus
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to prepare visual aids for technical and administrative presentations
  • Previous experience in a Research and Development environment and/or government contracts

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
