MGM Brakes, a division of Indian Head Industries, Inc., is the leading supplier of spring brake actuators and service chambers for domestic and global truck, trailer, bus, and specialty vehicles for the commercial vehicle industry. We are currently seeking a highly enthusiastic individual for our Production Worker position based out of our Cloverdale CA. manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Production Worker position may consist of several different positions which may rotate to perform a variety of assembly job functions on the production line. Some of the position rotations are as follows: Packer, Head Buffer, Sealer, Jig Operator (Tandem, TR, etc.), Tag Engraving/Label Printing, Clamp Band pre-assembly or Long stroke/Standard units. Some of the job responsibility components for each position include performing all jobs in a safe manner, completing logs and charts as required by specified work instructions and to prevent and detect leaking units by following specific training and work instructions. The Production Worker will be assigned to a designated workstation and must be able to work well within an assembly and/or paint line environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly equipment, testing, and components
- Mechanical aptitude, knowledge and use of gauges, and utilization of basic math skills
- Ability to understand quality specifications, identify parts and part numbers
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or procedures
- Ability to comprehend verbal direction and follow those instructions precisely
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with tact and professionalism
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
- Preventing and detecting leaking units by following work instructions and adhering to housekeeping standards (keeps work area clean and orderly)
- Reads and interprets shop papers and work instructions to confirm correct components are being used
- Ensure special packaging requirements are followed per verbal instructions, shop papers, packing manual and work instructions
- Accurately ensures that each box contains the required number of units according to order size
- Responsible for working safely and following all safety instructions (Safety & Hazardous Materials Training)
- Completes logs, charts and shop papers as required
- Must work at designated work area and participate in job rotation when required
- Must be able to understand and comply with company rules and regulations
- May perform Tag Engraving/ Label Printing and Clamp band pre-assembly as needed
- May retrieve parts from paint line storage locations, stripe piston rods
- May remove (load and unload) finished paint line parts to be packaged and accepted for production
- Notify Management if/when production problems arise
- All other duties as assigned

Team members are subject to regular use of production machinery and will consistently use gauges, tools, and other measuring devices.
