Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Arrowhead Winch is seeking a Safety Specialist to join a team at our manufacturing facility in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. This position is responsible for ensuring environmental, health and safety compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Come be a part of this dynamic team!!

Job Summary: The Safety Specialist supports accident prevention, health, and environmental programs at the plant level, providing all levels of management with support and technical service. Reports to the Safety Manager in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Assists with EHS inspections, risk assessments/ hazard identification, ISO 14001 and 45001 audits, incidents and audit findings. Research regulations and report metrics.
  • Coordinates various EHS training (schedules, selects providers, documents and reports metrics).
  • Maintains EHS management system documents/records (ISO, EHS permits, contractor orientations etc.)
  • Maintains waste stream tracking and reporting (waste profiles/manifests, energy, water and greenhouse gas reports). Assists with waste reduction/recycling (managing vendors responsible for removal).
  • Manages hazard communication program (labeling and SDS documentation).
  • Assists with hearing and respiratory programs (scheduling fit tests/exams, reviewing results).
  • Assists with material handling programs. (crane/hoist, rigging hardware, lifting devices, forklift etc.)
  • Coordinates PPE and first aid supply program. (Manage selection and stock inventory levels).
  • Coordinates plant safety committees (assists members with projects and follow-up on progress).
  • Coordinates with medical counsel in detection and prevention of occupational illness, return to work, pre-employment physical screening, and related activities.
  • Other responsibilities as needed based on environmental, safety, health, and security initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Safety/Hygiene, Environmental or related field is required
  • Minimum (2) years closely related experience in similar industry

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
