We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Greenville, SC office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Work collaboratively on all aspects of the project to address client goals and objectives, with a primary focus on the following:
  • Help clients resolve environmental and engineering challenges by leveraging your technical and scientific knowledge.
  • Use skills gained through your experience to synthesize and streamline client deliverables and communicate project findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Lead site investigations to delineate the extent of contamination in soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas, including Phase I/Phase II environmental assessments in adherence to applicable standards.
  • Prepare proposals, project report/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Exercise creative thinking to design, plan, and implement innovative field observation and testing programs.
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
  • Demonstrate very strong verbal communications and written skills including client deliverables and regulatory submittals.
  • Be effective in assigning and managing work.
  • Demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Have skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • Have experience in planning and directing environmental field observation and testing programs, including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
  • Project details specific to this role include:
  • Industrial/manufacturing and energy market clients.
  • Complex contaminated site management projects involving assessment and remediation; and
  • Long-term projects involving field data collection, evaluation, reporting, and communication with external stakeholders.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Hydrogeology, environmental science or related field.
  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer literacy skills including use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing, reviewing and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates preferred, strong commitment to safety.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
  • Some project management or task management experience is a plus.
  • Expertise with industry-specific geologic modeling software, Python, "R", and Blue Beam.
  • Experience with geologic modeling (Earth Volumetric Studio) or flow and transport modeling (Groundwater Vistas/GMS) would be a differentiator.
