JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sherwin-Williams Finance internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in Tax.

The internship features a singular Tax Compliance experience, where you’ll learn federal, state, and local taxes.

You will gain meaningful exposure toprocesses and technologies that support our tax department, leading to financials results for the business, all while developing the skills necessary for a successful finance or accounting career., all while developing the skills necessary for a successful finance or accounting career.

This internship program is scheduled to begin Spring/Summer 2025 and designed to go until graduation of your undergraduate or masters.

Year Round: This role requires availability to work a minimum of 20 hours and maximum of 28 hours per week during the school year and maximum of 37.5 hours during the summer, with the ability to work at least one (1) year.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to Day Responsibilities:???

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

  • Assist with preparation of Sales tax/Business license/permit compliance
  • Maintaining permit documentation (Excel spreadsheets and permit images)
  • Answering notices from various taxing jurisdictions and/or forwarding correspondence to others for follow-up
  • Scan and email sales tax/business licenses to the stores
  • Prepare quarterly gross receipt tax returns and business license applications

Leadership Development:???

  • Basic tax law research
  • Assistance with special projects
    ????

Professional Networking:

  • Exposure to financial systems
  • Development of professional network by collaborating across finance department(s)
  • Enhancing financial and business acumen through skill development
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements??

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age???
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.???
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Finance, or Accounting at the time of the internship?
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications??

  • Be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program??
  • Have prior school or work experience in finance, accounting, and business??
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)??
  • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.????
  • Previous experience in the Sherwin-Williams Corporate Finance Internship Program?
