We are currently looking for a Maintenance/Electrical Specialist to join our team in Decatur, IL.    

PURPOSE OF POSITION                                       

The Maintenance/Electrical Specialist is responsible for supporting production teams with mechanical and machine operations, as well as overseeing building facilities and related equipment. Key duties include performing preventive maintenance, ensuring spare parts availability and development, and carrying out comprehensive maintenance of all utilities. These utilities include cranes, sand plants, compressors, grinders, cooling towers, heat exchangers, heat treatment furnaces, induction melting furnaces, DISAMATIC systems, dust collectors, shot blasting machines, machine tools, and cooler classifiers.

 

Task and Responsibilities: 

  • Understand the detailed operation of pneumatics, hydraulics and general mechanics. 
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions. (AC & DC). 
  • PM plant equipment mechanically & electrically. 
  • Build electrical control cabinets. 
  • Have understanding of PLC and how to use them for diagnosing malfunctions. 
  • Able to perform repairs on electronic equipment. 
  • Able to utilize oscilloscope for diagnosing electrical/electronic problems. 
  • Be able to use hand tools, welder, cutting torch and electrical meters. 
  • Must be able to score the above minimum required on the corporate maintenance technician test. 
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies. 
  • Follows all LOTO procedures & conducts LOTO as needed.


Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing abilities related to job assigned.


Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies)

  • Must have two (2) years of tech training or equivalent experience. 
  • At least one (1) year of related mechanical experience in hydraulics, electronics repair and related mechanical applications. 
  • Minimum one year of welding experience required.  
  • Certified welder multiple positions, blueprint reading, operation of all fabrication equipment and techniques preferred.
  • Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
  • Must be able to work as a team member collaborating with colleagues.

Working Location:

  • Decatur, Illinois. 

Salary:

  • $ 24.15/hr to $35.00/hr
