Description:


The Quality Manager ensures that all company products and services meet defined quality standards before they are dispatched. The main responsibility is to develop, train, audit, sustain, store, and improve all standard operating procedures in all areas of the organization. The Quality Manager plays a vital role in ensuring procedures are effectively implemented throughout the organization and collaborate closely with leadership and SMEs (subject matter experts) to translate quality objectives into actionable plans and to inspire and train employees to follow our quality standards.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and deploy process improvements to new and current policies and procedures, and ensure quality standards are met with limited rework and defects.
  • Create standardized filing and electronic storage for company policies and procedures.
  • Create and conduct training and appropriate communication regarding new policies, procedures, and changes to any existing rules and regulations for all production, pre-production, and post-production departments.
  • Consistently audit and provide key takeaways and measurements of improvement proactively based off findings with appropriate teams.
  • Report audit results back to SeaChange leadership team on quarterly basis.
  • Write customer facing CAPA's, develop root cause analysis, and gather evidence through coordinating internal communication with key stakeholders.
  • Manage the use of the SeaChange Non-conforming Issues Tracker and all follow-up for its success.
  • Create routines and partner with department managers to sustain and continuously improve processes.
  • Develop companywide continuous improvement programs and report metrics. Train, educate, audit, and inspire employees to follow operating standards.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizens and other continuous improvement efforts and report improvements to leadership team.
  • Act as the centralized team member and key subject matter expert for the organization on defining and refining quality improvement standards.
  • Apply lean manufacturing business activities (e.g., kaizen, six sigma, value stream mapping, kanban) to drive safety, quality, efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Create training for new hires and deploy quarterly training initiatives cross-functionally with SMEs and key stakeholders.
  • Lead routine inspections for color, registration, spots, hickies, scratches, marking, accurate finishing and quantity of samples.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and partnership with all levels within the organization to gain appropriate buy-in for key policy and procedural changes. Meet with operators consistently to deploy effective changes to operating standards.
  • Proactively eliminate non-conforming issues and serve as the key leader to determine root cause analysis upon non-conforming issues occurring. Lead and manage through necessary investigation of non-conforming issues, manage through client grievances, and provide exceptional solutions upon internal errors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience with lean manufacturing as a Quality Manager, and proven print industry experience is required.
  • Six Sigma or lean manufacturing training or certifications is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to appropriately interpret and relay production instructions.
  • Professional and proactive interaction with clients and internal clients is a key component of the position.
  • Extensive knowledge of the print and mailing industries, high quality standards, mature judgement, and strong organizational work habits.
  • Must have background using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Pay Range

  • $85,000 - $100,000 per year.
