Position Title: Fraud Risk Analyst II
Department: Fraud
Purpose: The Fraud Risk Analyst II provides support to the Fraud Department activities which include review of required reports and documentation, dispute processing, and fraud monitoring across all systems supporting these functions. This position also analyzes and prepares fraud related research, identifies and mitigates new risks through investigations and is capable of providing a quality control function over daily Fraud Department tasks.
Essential Functions:
Reviews transaction monitoring alerts for fraudulent or unusual activity utilizing various systems, and recommends the alerts be escalated to case or cleared. Direct customer outreach for numerous alerts is required.
Monitors daily reports across multiple systems and fields incoming calls from customers and business units to identify and report fraudulent activity across Bank channels, such as online banking, mobile check deposit, etc.
Investigates escalated alerts and manually created cases (e.g., business unit referrals, negative news, vendor reports, etc.) for fraudulent or suspicious activity. Takes appropriate actions based on findings (e.g., referral of suspicious activity to BSA, restriction/closure of customer accounts/access, etc.). Direct customer outreach for cases is required.
Reviews unauthorized and authorized dispute documentation and processes charge backs regarding debit card and electronic transfer disputes in accordance with Federal Banking Regulation E.
Tracks and maintains departmental spreadsheets reflecting fraud reported risk and trend data for Management review.
Works directly with Branch staff and other business units to report and resolve fraud related matters to include elder abuse referrals, identity theft reports, check verifications and unusual transaction activity.
As needed, provides quality control support for daily Fraud Department tasks.

Job Related Qualifications – Education and Prior Experience:
Required:
Education: High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Prior Experience: 3+ years of anti-fraud experience in the financial services sector. Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered in lieu of education.
Licenses or Accreditation: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Fraud Professional (CAFP), or other Anti-Fraud Certifications
Competencies:
Strong knowledge of and ability to learn emerging fraud trends and tactics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey information to all levels of staff and customers.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to issues involving high dollar or high-volume fraudulent transactions, irate customers, robberies, complaints and law enforcement interaction.
Ability to identify trends, interpret data and apply to workflows.
Possess a very high level of attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft applications with the ability to learn and utilize new and existing banking software applications; Ability to utilize the internet to conduct searches related to responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
Able to regularly sit for prolonged periods of time.
Extensive computer usage is required.
