Title: Career Pathways Grant Coordinator

General Summary: The Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Career Pathways (CP) Grant is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of grant activities that expand workforce credentialing, degree attainment, and college access for early childhood educators. The Coordinator leads cross-departmental and community-based collaborations that align with state and institutional career pathway initiatives and advances student success through innovative, equity-driven practices.

In addition to overseeing grant operations and external partnerships, the Coordinator provides direct support to students through individualized academic advising, degree audits, course planning, and referral to college resources. The Coordinator ensures that advising practices are aligned with the unique needs of adult learners, multilingual students, and those returning to higher education after time in the workforce. This role also involves collaboration with faculty and staff to provide proactive academic support and early intervention strategies to promote student retention and credential completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement all aspects of the ECE Career Pathways Grant, ensuring compliance with all state and institutional requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day grant operations, including budgeting, reporting, and programming.
  • Schedule and facilitate Career Pathways team meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the college representative at EEC grant meetings and other related state-level convenings.
  • Provide academic advising to Career Pathways students, including intake, course selection, degree audits, and graduation planning.
  • Monitor student progress and develop individualized academic support plans, in collaboration with faculty and student services.
  • Implement and manage proactive outreach strategies to support persistence, including early alerts and targeted communication for students at risk.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with private and public early education programs, community-based organizations, and workforce development agencies.
  • Collaborate with departments across the college including Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and Student Support Services to design student-centered systems for onboarding, communication, and academic support.
  • Support efforts within the ECE Department related to NAEYC accreditation and program quality.
  • Contribute to the expansion of adult learning initiatives, with a particular focus on underrepresented and multilingual students.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in education, program coordination, grant management, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with grant budgeting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Experience providing academic advising or support services to college students, particularly adult learners.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including multilingual and first-generation college students.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships with educational institutions, external agencies, and community organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering cross-functional teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in early childhood education and educator preparation pathways.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts EEC credentialing requirements.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.


Additional Information:

Salary Range: $63,159 is the starting salary with a Bachelor's Degree for a Grade 05 MCCC Professional Staff Position; actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. This appointment is subject to grant funding and the FY2025/26 budget appropriations.
