Job Description/Responsibilities

The associate dean in this position is responsible for duties assigned by the SEHHB dean, including:

• reviewing and approving course scheduling requests
• reviewing and approving curricular changes
• reviewing and approving internal and external funding submissions
• reviewing and approving tenure-track search documents
• supervising the director of the advising office
• supporting space, facilities and equipment needs
• supporting updates to official publications (e.g., catalogs, marketing materials)
• reviewing and approving advancement dossiers for full-time instructors
• supporting ceremonies and celebrations
• serving as an advisor and second-level hearing officer on student grievances
• collecting data on department chair performance
• advising department chairs, faculty members, and staff on policies and procedures
• temporary duties

Minimum Qualifications
• Tenured faculty member within a SEHHB department
• A record of meticulously adhering to established policies and procedures

Preferred:

• Years of leadership experience within a SEHHB department focused on health or human behavior (to diversify the disciplinary expertise in the dean's office)
• Substantive higher education leadership experience demonstrating readiness for dean-level administration
