Responsibilities

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inventory. This role involves managing the physical movement of products, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient operations.

1.    Shipping Duties:
•    Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
•    Coordinate with carriers and shipping companies to schedule pickups and track shipments.
•    Verify shipment contents against packing lists or orders to ensure accuracy.
•    Maintain records of shipped items, including quantities, destinations, and tracking numbers.
2.    Receiving Duties:
•    Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders.
•    Document and report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or other issues to the appropriate personnel.
•    Unpack and sort received items, ensuring they are stored in their designated locations.
•    Update inventory records to reflect received goods.
3.    Inventory Management:
•    Monitor and communicate discrepancies in lot numbers and or serial numbers to stockroom leadership. 
•    Conduct periodic inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
•    Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure efficient use of space and ease of access.
4.    Documentation and Record Keeping:
•    Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant documents.
•    Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for shipping and receiving.
•    Prepare and submit reports related to shipping and receiving activities as required.
5.    Customer Service:
•    Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipping and receiving inquiries or issues.
•    Provide excellent customer service by addressing and resolving any concerns or discrepancies promptly.
6.    Safety and Compliance:
•    Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
•    Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials or sensitive items.
•    Daily cleaning and organizing of the Shipping & Receiving Department

Qualifications

•    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or relevant training is a plus.
•    Experience: Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field is preferred.
•    Skills:
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Good organizational and time management skills.
•    Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and best practices.
•    Proficiency in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
•    The ability to lift and move heavy packages and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
•    Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Hourly rate: $23.11 - $32.60
