If not on a sales incentive plan, match Applications/Systems Engineering - Post-Sales - Non-Sales Plan.Standard BioTools is seeking a dynamic Technical Support Scientist II based in the US, on the west coast, to support the KREX® autoantibody profiling platform and related pipeline products.
The Technical Support Scientist II will be an integral part of a fast-paced, collaborative commercial and technical team, providing both pre- and post-sales support to customers and Authorized sites. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent presentation skills, enabling them to deliver impactful technical presentations, craft, and present project proposals, and develop high-quality technical documentation for core products. Success in this role demands a keen attention to detail, deep knowledge of the KREX core technology and related offerings, and a strong understanding of customer applications.
This position reports directly to the Global Scientific Support Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Provide pre- and post-sales scientific/technical support, including preparing and presenting project proposals and study designs
Coordinate with internal technical team members to address customer and Authorized site enquiries related to all technical/scientific aspects of the products and services
Research and develop customer projects and technical collateral around KREX and product offerings specific to their research aims
Support sales team in technical discussions and presentations to customers and collaborators during meetings, conferences, and exhibitions
Provide expert understanding and strong technical competency to customers and Authorized sites in discussions on project requirements related to the use of KREX and services
Keep abreast of all research and development in the field of functional proteomics and immuno-proteomics
Ability to present KREX technology and capabilities in large scientific meetings and conferences
Ability to generate training materials (PowerPoint, whitepaper, technical note, etc.) for various scientific presentations and competitor positioning
Deliver technology presentations to potential clients
Support commercial team and customers with technical knowledgebase and problem solving
Assess equipment and laboratory technical capabilities for technology transfer opportunities
Represent KREX at trade shows
Troubleshoot protocols being run in client labs
Train sales team members on messaging, as appropriate
Provide professional email responses to customer inquiries, ensuring clear communication of technical information
Additional responsibilities as directed by the Scientific Support Manager
Education and Experience:
A master's degree in immunology, proteomics, genomics, or a related discipline is strongly preferred, with a PhD being highly advantageous.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the field, including 3-4 years of hands-on bench work and 2-3 years in a commercial biotech or pharma environment.
Strong technical knowledge of immuno-proteomics specifically in protein arrays, protein expression, and assay development
Highly motivated and must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Results-oriented with a drive to find solutions to problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in customer support
Ability to adapt to change and work effectively on various assignments
Good organizational and planning skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility in working hours to support multiple time zones if required
Experience in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries preferred
