Principal Engineer – IO/ISR SME

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Engineer – IO/ISR SME to lead and support mission-critical efforts in Information Operations (IO) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic insight to develop, assess, and guide innovative IO/ISR solutions in support of national defense and intelligence communities.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the senior technical advisor and subject matter expert for IO and ISR systems, capabilities, and operations.
Provide thought leadership on integration of ISR platforms and IO capabilities into operational plans and CONOPs.
Lead technical teams in the development, modeling, simulation, and analysis of IO/ISR architectures and capabilities.
Advise program leadership and stakeholders on operational and technical risks, capability gaps, and investment strategies.
Collaborate with DoD, IC, and partner organizations to identify emerging threats, technologies, and mission needs.
Ensure alignment of technical solutions with mission objectives and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and analysts in IO/ISR disciplines.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
10+ years of experience in ISR and/or Information Operations, including operational support and/or capability development.
Deep knowledge of ISR platforms (e.g., airborne, space-based, ground), data flows, PED (Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination), and IO disciplines (e.g., EW, cyber, PSYOP, MILDEC).
Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, requirements analysis, and mission planning.
Strong communication and briefing skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Joint or Service-specific ISR/IO operations.
Prior work with DoD R&D organizations or operational commands.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $93.75 To $179.00 hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
