The Credit Analyst reviews credit information for the purpose of assessing risk involved in the extension of credit, prepares reports of findings, and assists in certain collection efforts.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative assessments of customers and propose adequate credit limits.
  • Review credit applications and conducts credit investigations.
  • Determine required information, including company financial statements.
  • Compare items such as liquidity, profitability, credit history, and cash, with other companies of the same industry, size, and geographic location.
  • Analyze such factors as income growth, quality of management, market share, and potential risks of industry.
  • Assist in managing letters of credit issued to vendors as well as those issued by customers.
  • Perform industry research and ratios.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews to assess credit risk and maintain credit data.
  • Occasionally assist in collecting past due accounts.
  • Special projects as requested by Management (i.e. review reports, update info, etc.)
  • Placing and releasing credit holds based on past dues, other information, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BAS degree required.
  • Financial Statement Analysis experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of Credit Analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong skills are required in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
