Overview:

Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Sr. VOIP Engineer. In this role you will help review options, engage with vendors, and make recommendations on the future of VoIP for the client, as well as help to accelerate the configuration, deployment and cut over of the future VoIP and Contact Center applications, allowing for distribution of effort across voice engineers.

Location: This is a hybrid role in Washington, DC.
Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires an active Public Trust.




What Youll do:
  • Collaborate with program engineering teams on voice system strategies looking towards the future of voice and supporting our cloud migration
  • Day-to-day management of a Cisco CUCM and UCCX environment, supporting 4 contact centers
  • Administration and management of Finesse and Upstream Works platforms
  • Lead the migration to a Cloud first posture
  • Supporting integrations between On-prem CUCM, WebEx calling, MSFT Teams and on-prem Cisco VTC rooms.
  • Coordinate and participate in planned maintenance activities to ensure voice and recording systems are properly implemented and maintained according to best practices with minimal impact to the business
  • Coordinate with the team to develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, security, and system documentation according to industry best practices and government regulatory requirements
  • Help evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance the voice environment to serve strategic and tactical business objectives


Required knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology
  • 3+ years of advanced experience involving Cisco UC design , deployment, configuration and optimization
  • Deep understanding of VoIP in the enterprise and working with carrier SIP trunking
  • Expert in MGCP and SIP gateway configuration
  • Expert with Cisco UC and IPCCX, including, CUBE, Finesse and Upstream Works
  • Experience with Cisco's UC cloud solution
  • Experience with MSFT Teams
  • Familiarity with networking
  • Expert troubleshooting skills
  • Federal IT regulatory compliance experience
  • Exceptional work ethic and time management skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to customer service


Abilities

  • Strong written/verbal communications skills
  • Able to engage face to face w/clients (professional appearance for video meetings)
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, including Visio diagrams and written SOP and systems documentation.


Nice to haves

  • Cisco CUBE hands-on experience
  • CCNP in networking and/ or voice experience
  • Network (route/switch) experience


Salary Range:
  • Salary range is $130,000-150,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
