Epsilon C5I (www.epsilonsystems.com/c5i), focused on software development and systems engineering for intelligence and combat systems, is looking for a Software Design and Engineering SME in Fairfax, VA, with 6+ years of experience, to serve as the critical communication bridge between our stakeholders and the prime contractor responsible for embedded software development. This role ensures alignment of technical deliverables with stakeholder expectations, oversees project progress, and facilitates effective collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the prime contractor, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding project requirements, updates, and feedback.

  • Project Oversight: Monitor the progress of embedded software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Requirements Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document software requirements, and ensure these are clearly communicated to the prime contractor.

  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues or discrepancies between stakeholder expectations and contractor deliverables, facilitating prompt and effective resolutions.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of communications, decisions, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Meetings Coordination: Organize and lead regular meetings between stakeholders and the prime contractor to review progress, discuss challenges, and plan next steps.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Six or more (6+) years in embedded software development or project management, with at least 2 years in a liaison or coordination role between contractors and stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, software development processes, and project management methodologies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Familiarity with project management and communication tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Slack.

  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI access

  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Navy and defense industry.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to embedded systems (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262).

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $135,000 to $175,000 annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).

  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.

  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.

  • Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
