Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates for electrical construction and maintenance projects. Aid management in bidding on or determining price and schedule. Some key task and responsibilities are:
ยท Read and comprehend all contract documents including specifications, project scopes, drawings and standards to prepare accurate project cost estimates
ยท Accurately take off material quantities from drawings to develop material and labor pricing. Programs include Excel, Bluebeam, AccuBid, Quotesoft On Screen Takeoff,or other similar estimating software.
ยท Ability to develop conceptual design and cost estimates for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low voltage controls systems.
ยท Assemble scoped RFPโs for vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing. Analyze, compare and select best value vendor and subcontractor proposals for inclusion in cost estimates
ยท Prepare schedules for proposal submission, utilizing P6, Planera or similar scheduling software
ยท Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-downs to understand project scope, conditions, physical restrictions, etc.
ยท Escort subcontractors on site visits, walking them through the scope of work to obtain the most accurate pricing
ยท Attend post-bid review and project kick-off meetings with the owner as needed
ยท Attend in-house project turnover meetings from estimating to project management
ยท Understand and appropriately estimate the costs associated with safety and other project location specific work rules
ยท Participate in bid review and scope review meetings and be able to explain a projects scope and estimated project costs as well as assumptions and means/methods to upper management for approval
ยท Utilize historical cost data to develop cost estimates
ยท Maintain quality service by following organization standards
ยท Maintain continuity among corporate, division and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
ยท Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and helping other estimators as needed
ยท Prepare detailed breakdown of cost estimates that facilitates review and understanding
Education and/or Work Experience Requirement:
ยท 5-10 years of field experience in industrial and power construction
ยท Ability to maintain confidentiality
ยท Excellent interpersonal skills

ยท Organizational skills
ยท Effective written and verbal communication skills
ยท Pressure part experience or knowledge
ยท Tank Experience or knowledge

ยท Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federals, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
ยท Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
ยท Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly
ยท Work in standard office environment
