Clinical Data Analyst/Bioinformatician
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated personnel to work on high-throughput data analyses and development of computational pipelines for data processing and visualization. We are highly interdisciplinary and collaborative, and the candidate will be interacting with experimental/ clinical researchers at the VMI. The novel hypotheses generated from the work may be tested by experiments.
Major duties:
• Preprocessing and exploratory analysis of high-throughput omics data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, metabolomics) and clinical data
• Installation and testing of publicly available bioinformatics tools
• Clinical and demographic data extraction from public and internal databases
• Construction of in-house database and computational data processing pipeline
This position can work some days remotely but must be able to come into the office as needed, for in-person meetings, and VMI meetings/seminars as needed.
Assists in the execution of research objectives, data collection, and data management. Performs routine procedures, statistical analysis, scientific analysis, and reporting. Integrates data and data sets, performs descriptive and exploratory analysis, and creates routine reports and analysis reporting tools. Utilizes statistical software and adheres to all protocols.
Analysis of high-throughput omics data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, metabolomics) and clinical data.
Close attention to detail.
Mostly a seated position, but could require walking to other VMI offices.
