Lead Research Program Coordinator
The University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health, Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology has a long and distinguished history as a leader in graduate education, transformative research, implementation science, and education in infectious diseases. Coordinates high-level, protocol-related research procedures and study components and manages one study or assists with larger studies. Ensures the safety of the research and laboratory. Manages staff, audits studies, and recommends policy improvements.
The Lead Research Program Coordinator will assist with HIV public health planning and engagement in the HPCP, a longitudinal project that works to design, implement, and support health planning activities in Pennsylvania for the entire spectrum of HIV prevention and care. This project receives federal and state funds through the Pennsylvania Dept. of Health, Division of HIV Disease. This position will have responsibility for designing and implementing stakeholder engagement for statewide HIV planning. This entails best-practice outreach using diverse mediums and methodologies to reach communities impacted by HIV throughout the commonwealth (townhalls, online outreach, surveys, assessments, interviews, etc., plus coordination with government, healthcare, and community/nonprofit groups). Other required tasks include key support for statewide anti-stigma messaging, supporting prevention capacity building, and traveling to regional and statewide planning meetings, among other outreach and planning activities.
The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, lift and carry materials. Must be able to drive and attend meetings on
campus and travel to regional and statewide planning meetings, among other outreach and planning activities. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
