Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for developing the ITT Connectors business in the Transportation & Industrial (T&I) markets (Rail, Heavy Vehicle, Energy, General Industrial) and will act as interface for trends and market developments. He will pro-actively develop new business and design-in opportunities and strengthen our market position in close cooperation with the regional sales team.



Responsibilities

  • Develop new business in the T&I market and act as regional interface for market developments in NA.
  • Drive development of new business, new product opportunities and design-in activities with strategic customers, directly or supporting the Sales team.
  • Builds strong working relationships with key stakeholder at strategic customers and in the industry.
  • Works closely with Product Managers, Sales, and Product Development for the purpose of growing our business.
  • Build and present product and application presentations to our existing and/or “new” potential customer base by demonstrating value-proposition and expertise in interconnect technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the product portfolio. Provides input and presents proposals for new products and related technologies. Coordinate and program manage the execution of new product development initiatives.


Qualifications



Required:

  • Economic and/or technical background, preferred with a Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree. Connector market experience (10+ years) will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of business development/sales/product management experience in connectors or related industry
  • Familiar with design-in/spec-in and buying processes in the connectors or related industry
  • Proven track record of creating new business
  • Strong technical understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to directly manager customer engagements including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Hands-on, highly self-motivated/self-initiated, team player with demonstrated leadership skills working across functional departments
  • Organizational skills to anticipate, prioritize, plan, organize to meet and exceed strategic objectives with relentless focus on customer satisfaction
  • Willing to travel and spend the majority of the working hours with potential or existing customers

Preferred:

  • Experience in the Transportation & Industrial markets (Rail, Heavy Vehicles, Energy)
  • Experience in Harsh Environment Circular Connectors is a plus

Location:

  • Preferably U.S. West Coast, remote or willing to re-locate
