Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s Development and Alumni Relations department is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Medical Affairs Development. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Identifies prospects and develops and implements comprehensive sponsorship strategies to include cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of sponsorships for USA Health fundraising events. Employee success will be measured on defined metrics, including but not limited to, the number of new sponsors, returning sponsors and overall moves management of sponsors.
- Manages and coordinates all USA Health fundraising events in collaboration with the Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Develops and implements an annual event fundraising plan in accordance to Medical Affairs budgeted goals.
- Coordinates participation in external, third-party events that directly benefit a program or department or other approved need of USA Health.
- Develops event budgets including frequent reports on profit/loss margin to inform decisions in order to maintain the event’s financial integrity and help yield, if not exceed, event revenue goals in coordination with Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Refers major gift prospect leads from fundraising event activities to the Director, Medical Affairs Development.
- Reviews and offers suggested updates to the USA Health Fundraising Events Policy as needed on a regular basis.
- Maintains records of participant, vendor, and sponsor contacts in Raiser’s Edge database.
- Assists with the event visual identity, including but not limited to donor-centric communications such as invitations, logos, marketing collateral, acknowledgments, decor and production assets as required in collaboration with Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Works with the USA Health Marketing team to plan, develop and execute all aspects of marketing and branding for events in collaboration with Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Develops and disseminates post-event surveys and provide reports to key stakeholders on survey findings.
- Identifies and manages volunteer committees with the support of the Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Creates and manages peer-to-peer fundraising pages as related to fundraising events in coordination with Senior Special Events Coordinator.
- Coordinates and tracks event attendance.
- Represents the department in meetings as required.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
