Responsibilities

  • Advise employers, site managers, and responsible personnel on necessary measures to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations based on applicable legal requirements.

  • Support management in conducting and coordinating multi-layer workplace inspections to evaluate machinery, equipment, substances, and processes for potential risks of bodily injury or negative environmental impact.

  • Establish and guide the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Committee in organizing and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, conducting site inspections, and ensuring effective communication with relevant government authorities on HSE matters (e.g., Bomba, DOSH, DOE, MPPP, NIOSH, JKJR).

  • Collaborate with the HR department to deliver induction and employee safety awareness training, and work with the HSE Management team to establish, implement, and maintain HSE requirements.

  • Report and jointly investigate all HSE incidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and diseases at the workplace, while collecting, analyzing, and maintaining incident statistics for continuous improvement.

  • Develop safety and utilities maintenance programs to ensure ongoing enhancements in line with EHS goals set by management, and design and coordinate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Driver Competency Training and Certification for operations staff, maintaining a current list of certified MHE drivers.

  • Conduct monthly EHS inspections with the respective department HSE Committee, submit reports for discussion at HSE Committee meetings, and prepare, update, and present HSE reports to customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Registered OSH Coodinator.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer and certified internal auditor for OHS Management System & Environmental Management System are an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years in HSE functions or equivalent with proven track record.
