Job Description:


This position provides Aegis Computer Network (ACNT) technical Aegis Weapons System (AWS) support in Yokosuka, Japan.

The successful candidate will provide technical services supporting the accomplishment of significant engineering and technical efforts relative to the investigation, analysis, evaluation, and correction of the design, implementation, and technical documentation for the following:


· Mission Critical Enclosure/Common Processing System (MCE/CPS)

· Aegis LAN Network Interface System (ALIS)

· Aegis Display System/Common Display System (ADS/CDS)

· Processing and Conversion Equipment

· Peripherals

· Operational Readiness System

· Aegis Combat Training System

· Battlefield Tactical Trainer

· Video Projection, Distribution and Display

· Cameras and Television Systems

· Aegis Weapon Systems (AWS) interfacing for BL10, BL9, BL7.2, and the Legacy baselines.

Serves as technical expert and consultant for PHD NSWC in the areas of design, evaluation and analysis of both current and advanced baseline developmental Aegis computers Equipment. Provides technical, guidance and advice over a wide range of complex and critical issues relative to test, evaluation, installation, integration and maintenance of the operational effectiveness and fleet readiness of the Aegis computers equipment used in the CG 47 and DDG 51 class ships. Assists in the preparation for equipment readiness:

· Knowledge, documentation, support test equipment

· The introduction of Advanced ACS baselines into the fleet

· ADS, ADS networks and LANs, Advanced Aegis computers, CDS/CPS for all Baselines.

Assists in reviewing complex engineering problems reported in messages, Casualty Reports (CASREPs), Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs), and Technical manual Deficiency / Evaluation Reports (TMDERS), and 4790/2K. Supports the development of interim modifications, technical bulletins, messages, feedback response letters, ECPs, SCDs, Ordnance Alterations (ORDALTs), messages, or test plans.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:


· Must be a U.S. citizen

· Must have an active U.S. Security Clearance level Secret

· Minimum five years' experience with Baseline 9 AEGIS ships as an ACNT FCA.

· Ability to conduct fault detection/fault isolation procedures and perform Planned Maintenance System (PMS) procedures for Aegis computer equipment

· Familiarity with hardware, software, and network test equipment used to troubleshoot failures

· Capable training crew when on maintenance and troubleshooting of Aegis Weapons Systems elements

· Travel may be required over 10 percent of the time

· Must be in physical condition to embark on a U.S. Navy ship underway

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Microsoft Office (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications:


· Identify and resolve Aegis equipment and documentation discrepancies

· Execute Aegis computer Planned Maintenance System (PMS)

· Experience with any AEGIS BL10, BL9, BL7.2, and the Legacy baselines.

· Knowledge of, or experience in, troubleshooting and maintaining other equipment areas of the AWS to include displays, LAN, FCS, VLS, etc.

· Familiarity with Fleet Operations and Chain of Command.

· Expertise in U.S. Navy shipboard customs and courtesies.


Security Clearance:


Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance as specified in the minimum qualifications.
