Overview

Lutron is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our Supplier Quality Engineering team, focusing on fabric suppliers for our motorized window shade product line. In this critical role, you will become an expert in Lutron’s quality standards and play a key part in ensuring these standards are upheld across our fabric supply chain.

 

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Strategic and Tactical Procurement, Plant Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Corporate Quality teams to ensure our suppliers consistently deliver high-quality fabrics. Your efforts will drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.

 

This role requires strong leadership and project management skills, as you will lead cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement improvement initiatives. Building and maintaining strong professional relationships—both internally and with external suppliers—is essential to your success.



Responsibilities

  • Resolve fabric supplier related quality issues through formal quality tools
  • Manage fabric supplier relationships
  • Negotiate alignment between cross-functional stake holders including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Lead improvement projects that result in higher levels of measurable supplier quality
  • Execute new fabric supplier qualification
  • Perform on-site and remote supplier audits
  • Develop consulting relationships with suppliers, and positively impact their operations, quality controls and efficiency
  • Understand a wide range of engineering issues (mechanical, manufacturing….)
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly address the most impactful issues
  • Analyze data, develop a plan of action, and execute the plan
  • Collaborate with and update senior leadership on a regular basis


Qualifications



  • Bachelors degree required, preferred area of study: Fabrics Engineering or Textile Engineering
  • Minimum cumulative 3.00 required
  • 5+ years of industry experience in dealing with fabrics preferred
  • Previous experience in Quality is preferred
  • Project management experience a plus
