Pacific Coast Producers, a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking to fill Seasonal First Responder EMT for First Aid Station with qualified, capable individuals for our Production Facility in Oroville, CA. PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality food for customers across North America. Our Oroville facility produces pears, peaches, fruit cocktails, and employs 169 full-time workers year-round and a seasonal work force of over 1,200.

Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour. Weekend and overtime hours required when needed. Available to work from July 1 thru October 31. Morning, Swing, and Night shifts available.

The First Responder EMT is responsible for providing immediate first aid to injured employees, assess their condition, and determine the need for further medical attention. You will collaborate with external clinics when necessary and promptly respond to calls for assistance in all plant areas. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining an inventory of first aid supplies, ensuring their availability, and performing necessary clerical and recordkeeping duties.

Primary job duties would include: 

  • Administer timely and effective first aid to injured employees, demonstrating proficiency in basic medical procedures.
  • Provide quality and confidential first aid treatment for injured or ill employees.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance in all plant areas, utilizing your knowledge and skills to provide immediate support and care.
  • Maintain/inventory of first aid supplies, emergency trauma kits and first aid kits.
  • Create and maintain accurate accident/injury reports and logs.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary first aid station.
  • Handle phone calls and make radio calls.
  • Follow all safety policies and safety policies and safety procedures for care of injured/ill employees as well as other general safety.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must hold current certification in EMT, Basic First Aid, CPR & AED.
  • Maintain all required first aid certifications.
  • Previous experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written with members of management team and production team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Work duration of season from approximately July 1 through October.
  • Must be available for shift work 6-7 days per week for season duration.
  • Bi-lingual candidates (Spanish or Punjabi) are preferred for some of these positions.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a drug screen.

Secondary duties would include:

  • Assist in Food Safety and Safety Inspections.
