Job Summary
Cedar International Services is seeking 3 full-time Associate Chef / Barista and 1 part-time Associate Chef. As a valued member of our culinary team, the Associate Chef supports daily operations by ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer care. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and seamless dining experience, assisting in both back-of-house preparation and front-of-house service with attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare, assemble, and serve meals with precision, adhering to established recipes and portion standards.
• Ensure food presentation meets the quality and aesthetic standards of the establishment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas, including workstations, dining areas, and service equipment.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
• Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service to guests, assisting with questions and special requests.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to support efficient, high-quality meal production and service.
• Assist with inventory management, restocking, and supply organization to ensure operational readiness.
• Uphold a positive and professional demeanor, contributing to a welcoming and teamoriented atmosphere.
Skills and Qualification Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Commitment to excellence in food quality, safety, and customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to service.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and
reaching.
Physical Requirements:
• Standing for long periods (up to 8–10 hours a day)
• Lifting and carrying heavy items (up to 50 pounds — things like bulk ingredients, equipment,
or full trays)
• Bending, reaching, and stooping frequently
• Ability to work in an (indoor) cafeteria setting or in a kitchen environment (hot).
• Repetitive motion; Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Good vision and hearing (important for safety and communication)
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently (especially during busy service times)
